Our robot, Hazelnut Bug aka HB, used diagonal A* to be one of the fastest robots to navigate any course drawn. HB used the highest velocity it could without compromising its ability to turn, wall follow, and avoid obstacles. HB was able to locate weeds that were along the paths between waypoints, but it struggled to locate weeds that were outside of the optimal shortest path between waypoints such as the corners of the course.

HB also had an excellent LabView that showed the waypoints of the course, each weed and its color and position, and obstacles.
